When should I book my trip?

When thinking of  Tanzania safari, timing is everything. To have the best safari experience will depend entirely on naturally occurring factors, like seasonal rainfall. This means that having preferred travel dates will make a big difference to your itinerary – you don’t want to be in the Serengeti when the millions of wildebeest are already mowing down fresh grass in the Masai Mara!

Knowing how many days you want to spend in Tanzania and at what time of year is very important information to have when you start planning your itinerary. Not only will this influence what you’ll see and experience, it also has a big impact on your budget. If your safari goal is a seasonal event, it is likely that the best places to experience it will be booked up well in advance, which means you want to know the ideal travel dates as soon as you start planning.

If you wait until you are there, you will be spending your time going from office to office followed by flycatchers trying to persuade you to use their company. They will in fact be camped out in front of your hotel waiting for you. Instead, enjoy your free time looking around the town in peace. The more you wander from company to company, the more likely you will feel confused by the options and prices. We highly recommend you book your safari at least one month before arrival.

Payment process?

A deposit payment of 30% of the total invoice amount has to be paid within 14 days after the invoice date. The remaining amount is due eight weeks (56 days) before arrival. For bookings within the period of 56 days prior to departure the full amount of the invoice has to be paid instantly. Once we have received the amount in our bank account, we will send you a confirmation email. Please note that bank transfer costs should be covered by the sender.

In case the date of payment is exceeded, you will receive a friendly reminder. If we do not receive your payment subsequently, we have the right to cancel your trip and we will charge you cancellation fees of 30% of the total amount.

Cancellations and Refund?

In case you may need to cancel your trip, please notify us by email at your earliest convenience. Any cancellations shall be effective on the date that we received your cancellation request. The following cancellation fees apply:

  1. Cancellation up to 56 days before the day of arrival: 30% of the total amount;
  2. Cancellation from 56 days to 42 days before the day of arrival: 75% of the total amount;
  3. Cancellation from 42 days to the day of arrival: 100% of the total amount.

No refunds will be given for any unused services, late arrivals or no-shows.

Can I make amendments after confirmation?

All suggested safari itineraries are subject to availability and not guaranteed until confirmed. Should wish to make any amendment after confirmation, we will advise you the available possibilities. In case the proposed service is fully booked we will offer you a suitable alternative in the same price range or higher (a surcharge may be applicable). 

Mucho Tours & Safaris reserves the right to amend and re-adjust the itinerary, transportation, accommodation and services indicated in the safari program in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. Any changes will be communicated as early as possible.
