Today, the driver-guide will pick you up from Arusha with picnic lunch boxes and hold a quick briefing before we depart to Tarangire National Park entrée gate. Upon arrival at the gate, you will patiently wait for the permits formalities to be issued and registrations. Once the permits are sorted, get ready to explore one of the smaller but most scenic park – Lake Manyara National Park. The spectacular alkaline Lake Manyara forms the centre point of this small and very beautiful park with surprisingly diverse fauna and flora. A circuit drive through the park passes through forest, wetlands, grassy plains and acacia forests, offering views of different animals and multitudes of birds. The park once became famous for tree climbing lions and if you are lucky to spot them you will be amused by the site of these animals lounging on branches in the acacia trees. Elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, water-buck, impala, warthog, zebra, klipspringer, Kirk’s dik-dik and baboon are just a few of the game that call Manyara home. The shallow Hippo Pool offers excellent opportunities for hippo sightings and you will have a spectacular view of the Rift Valley Escarpment.
