The exclusivity of your private safari vehicle with the company of a professional driver-guide; means that you’ll experience a truly unrivalled East Africa safari.
DAY 1 I ARUSHA CITY TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Today, the driver-guide will pick you up from Arusha with picnic lunch boxes and hold a quick briefing before we depart to Tarangire National Park entrée gate. Upon arrival at the gate, you will patiently wait for the permits formalities to be issued and registrations. Here you will witness the hustle and bustle of the driver-guides with their safari vehicles rushing to enter the park. It is a perfect time to make a quick short call before the safari begins.
Once the permits are sorted, you will enter the park for the game drive. Tarangire National Park is a lovely quiet park in Northern Tanzania famous for the abundance of age-old baobabs and big families of elephants gathering in the vicinity of the main water source – the Tarangire River. Besides baby elephants and their parents the Tarangire is home to zebras, giraffes, hyenas, wart-hogs, buffalos and many other predators and ungulates. The park will also be a treat for bird enthusiasts. More than 550 bird species abiding in the Tarangire National Park present ample opportunity for bird watching: brightly plumaged yellow necked spurfowls, white crowned shrikes and black necked weavers are among the most frequent sightings here. Late afternoon we drive to the lodge/camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 I TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK TO LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you will collect your picnic lunch boxes and leave the Tarangire National Park. We drive via the town of Mto wa Mbu to the Lake Manyara National Park entree gate. Again, upon arrival at the gate, you will patiently wait for the permits formalities to be issued and registrations.
Once the permits are sorted, get ready to explore one of the smaller but most scenic park – Lake Manyara National Park. The spectacular alkaline Lake Manyara forms the centre point of this small and very beautiful park with surprisingly diverse fauna and flora. A circuit drive through the park passes through forest, wetlands, grassy plains and acacia forests, offering views of different animals and multitudes of birds. The park once became famous for tree climbing lions and if you are lucky to spot them you will be amused by the site of these animals lounging on branches in the acacia trees. Elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, water-buck, impala, warthog, zebra, klipspringer, Kirk’s dik-dik and baboon are just a few of the game that call Manyara home. The shallow Hippo Pool offers excellent opportunities for hippo sightings and you will have a spectacular view of the Rift Valley Escarpment. Late afternoon we drive to the lodge/camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight.
DAY 3 I LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK TO NGORONGORO CRATER
Get up early on day 3 of your adventurous safari, sit back and enjoy the journey: the road winds over the Great Rift Valley, through the crater forest and ending at your final destination: the striking Ngorongoro Crater. The mix of forests, valleys, savannah, craters, lakes and swamps is home for a wide range of animals. This collapsed volcano is one of Tanzania’s most visited destinations, and it’s certainly not hard to see why. One of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater is home to the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa and is brimming with elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and even the rare black rhino. Lunch to be saved at the picnic site. Late afternoon we drive to the lodge/camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight.
