The exclusivity of your private safari vehicle, customized to offer excellent views from the comfort of your chair, as well as the selected accommodations; means that you’ll experience a truly unrivalled East Africa safari.
DAY 1 I ARUSHA CITY TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Today, the driver-guide will pick you up from Arusha with picnic lunch boxes and hold a quick briefing before we depart to Tarangire National Park entrée gate. Upon arrival at the gate, you will patiently wait for the permits formalities to be issued and registrations. Here you will witness the hustle and bustle of the driver-guides with their safari vehicles rushing to enter the park. It is a perfect time to make a quick short call before the safari begins.
Once the permits are sorted, you will enter the park for the game drive. Tarangire National Park is a lovely quiet park in Northern Tanzania famous for the abundance of age-old baobabs and big families of elephants gathering in the vicinity of the main water source – the Tarangire River. Besides baby elephants and their parents, the Tarangire park is home to zebras, giraffes, hyenas, wart-hogs, buffalos and many other predators and ungulates. The park will also be a treat for bird enthusiasts. More than 550 bird species abiding in the Tarangire National Park present ample opportunity for bird watching: brightly plumaged yellow necked spurfowls, white crowned shrikes and black necked weavers are among the most frequent sightings here. Late afternoon we drive to the lodge/camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight.
DAY 2 I FULL DAY IN TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Today you enjoy a full day game drive in Tarangire National Park. With the help of your private driver guide, you will decide your schedule as you wish. Remember that the flexibility of having your private guide and private vehicle during a safari shows itself when you want to spend more time following a particular animal in its natural, undisturbed habitat, or when you want to lazy around a bit as you wait for the sun to engulf the horizon with its violet and fire colors or perhaps venture into a sunrise game drive to catch the memories of a morning safari with freshly made coffee and an endless horizon. Your private guide will tailor the experience to accommodate your major interest and passion for the day. If you like to watch wildlife from another perspective, we recommend you to go on a balloon safari. A balloon flight over Tarangire National Park will give you an aerial view of one of Africa’s most beautiful wildlife area. The Tarangire landscape is a diverse mix of granite ridges, river valleys and swamps. Vegetation is a mix of Acacia woodland, grasslands and the thousands of Baobab trees which are dotted throughout the park. It is an amazing experience to drift silently above the plains with herds of wildlife.
DAY 3 I TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK TO LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you will collect your picnic lunch boxes and leave the Tarangire National Park. We drive to the Lake Manyara National Park entree gate. Again, upon arrival at the gate, you will patiently wait for the permits formalities to be issued and registrations.
Once the permits are sorted, get ready to explore one of the smaller but most scenic park – Lake Manyara National Park. The spectacular alkaline Lake Manyara forms the centre point of this small and very beautiful park with surprisingly diverse fauna and flora. A circuit drive through the park passes through forest, wetlands, grassy plains and acacia forests, offering views of different animals and multitudes of birds. The park once became famous for tree climbing lions and if you are lucky to spot them you will be amused by the site of these animals lounging on branches in the acacia trees. Elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo, water-buck, impala, warthog, zebra, klipspringer, Kirk’s dik-dik and baboon are just a few of the game that call Manyara home. The shallow Hippo Pool offers excellent opportunities for hippo sightings and you will have a spectacular view of the Rift Valley Escarpment.
It is possible to add short excursions like walking / biking tour or Canopy treetop walk and give more taste on your day itinerary. Late afternoon we drive to the lodge/camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight.
DAY 4 I LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK TO NGORONGORO CRATER
Get up early on day 4 of your classic safari, sit back and enjoy the journey: the road winds over the Great Rift Valley, through the crater forest and ending at your final destination: the striking Ngorongoro Crater. The mix of forests, valleys, savannah, craters, lakes and swamps is home for a wide range of animals. This collapsed volcano is one of Tanzania’s most visited destinations, and it’s certainly not hard to see why. One of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders, the Ngorongoro Crater is home to the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa and is brimming with elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and even the rare black rhino. Your driver guide will explain to you about the Maasai people who cohabit with wild animals around. Lunch to be saved at the picnic site. Late afternoon we drive to the lodge/camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight.
DAY 5 I NGORONGORO CRATER TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Today after breakfast, you will collect your picnic lunch boxes and continue your Tanzania Classic Safari experience to one of the country’s biggest draws: The Serengeti National Park. The endless plains and abundance of wildlife that call the Serengeti home are unsurpassed. ‘Serengeti’ comes from the Maasai language meaning ‘endless plains’ and this rightly describes it. Serengeti National Park is Africa’s most famous park due to the largest concentration of game on the continent and the migration of millions of wildebeest. The most impressive nature documentaries were shot in this beautiful park. With almost 15.000 km2 (6,000 sq. miles), Serengeti National Park is the second largest park in Tanzania. The captivating landscapes of the Serengeti National Park vary from savannahs with acacia trees and vast grasslands to rising mountains, lakes and swamps. Each area is unique and has its own atmosphere. Because of its natural beauty and variety of plants and animals the park is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. This place will definitely touch your soul. Late afternoon we drive to the lodge/camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight.
